Week 15 rankings

Well, if anything, we learned who the real best team in the country is. I can't say I'm too happy about it, but it is what it is. Here we go.

1. Alabama (13-0): Well, there's really no question left about it now, is there?
2. Texas Christian (12-0): They've played like the second best team in the country all year and deserve to play for the title.
3. Texas (13-0): That didn't look like a championship team. If not for a stupid horse-collar tackle by Nebraska, the Huskers are playing in Glendale, with Texas probably playing in the Orange.
4. Cincinnati (12-0): Are they better than the Longhorns as well? Probably not, but their one point win was arguably better than Texas'.
5. Florida (12-1): Alabama pretty much annihilated Florida. Without Dunlap to put pressre on McElroy, the Florida D couldn't get pressure to force the Tide into making mistakes. A date with Cincy probably awaits in the Sugar Bowl.

6. Boise State (13-0): This would be a cruel, unjust world if the Bronco's don't get a bid to a BCS bowl.
7. Oregon (10-2): The Civil War was every bit the game we expected, and the Ducks came out on top. Can their high octane offense get past Ohio State's defense? We shall see.
8. Georgia Tech (11-2): Only one of the teams in the ACCCG could avoid a losing streak to end the season. Georgia Tech was that team. An Orange Bowl berth awaits them, probably against TCU.
9. Ohio State (10-2): Can Ohio State manage to win a BCS game? The last time they managed it they played an overmatched Notre Dame team.
10. Iowa (10-2): There's a good chance of them going to the Fiesta Bowl, but...
11. Penn State (10-2): It's also possible that the Nittany Lions, with their large fanbase could make the trip.
12. Louisiana Tech (9-3): They look to be Capital One Bowl bound.
13. Virginia Tech (9-3): They look to be headed to the Peach Bowl (it's REAL name).
14. Oklahoma State (9-3): Probably going to the Cotton Bowl.
15. Miami (FL) (9-3): Probably going to get screwed into the Champs Sports bowl by the Gator's selection of FSU.
16. Pittsburgh (9-3): They're going to be relegated to the Meineke Car Care bowl as the Gator is picking West Virginia to beat FSU.
17. Brigham Young (10-2): They'll be traveling to the Las Vegas Bowl barring a surprise selection by a BCS bowl. That probably won't happen though.
18. West Virginia (9-3): They get to a ten win season because they play FSU in the Gator Bowl... But the Noles will certainly want to win one for Bobby, so it could end up being a good one.
19. Stanford (8-4): Could go anywhere from the Holiday Bowl to the Pointsettia Bowl... They'll probably end up in the Las Vegas bowl or the Emerald Bowl.
20. Arizona (8-4): Same story here. Look for the Wildcats to make it to the Holiday Bowl as the rightful number two Pac-10 team.
21. Central Michigan (11-2): They'll get a chance to embarass a Big Ten team in the Little Caesar's Pizza bowl, most likely Minnesota.
22. Wisconsin (9-3): Probably going to the Champs Sports Bowl or Alamo Bowl.
23. Utah (9-3): They'll most liekly end up in the Pointsettia Bowl, but could go to the Las Vegas.
24. Oregon State (8-4): Another team in the log-jam of Pac-10 bowl eligibles. Probably going to the Sun Bowl, but could end up all the way in the Pointsettia Bowl.
25. Nebraska (9-4): Going to the Holiday Bowl, probably.

Dropped from the rankings:
Houston (formerly #14): I can't justify having them ranked anymore. Not when they miss three extra points.
California (formerly #20): Just another 8-4 Pac-10 squad, and one that didn't beat any of the best teams at that.
Clemson (formerly #21): C.J. Spiller can't do it all on his own.
Southern California (formerly #23): As much as Florida losing hurt, the pain is almost tempered by seeing USC do the same. Will the people at ESPN and other voters finally grow a pair and drop them from the rankings like they should? They did lose to all the best teams in the conference.
