Week 7 rankings, or: The Florida Gators are not here. Steve Addazio, you need not be either.

1. Auburn- War Damn. These guys allowed a lot of points to a good Arkansas team (who have a surprisingly good backup), but they put up 65 points. Denard Robinson is out of the picture- Heisman's all yours, Cam Newton.

2. Oregon- The off week meant that another top team couldn't lose, but they did get knocked from the top spot.

3. LSU- They keep winning, even if it doesn't look good. Everyone else keeps losing. And really, that's all you need against competition like their.

4. Oklahoma- Lookin stronger every week. Enough so that the BCS (sham that it is) has them at #1.

5. Alabama- Not particularly impressive against Ole Miss, but a win is a win. If they keep rolling (pun intended), they can sill play for the MNC.

6. Boise State- The AQ schools are going to do everything in their power to make me hate college football forever by losing enough to allow these guys to play for a national championship.

7. TCU- Please win bigger so I can have you jump Boise.

8. Michigan State- Well, I read last week that of the Big Ten (XII) schools, these guys had the best shot at making it through the year unscathed. I thought Ohio State had a better shot. I was wrong.

9. Ohio State- Yet another reason for me to hate you- You made my Badger hatred look irrational and misguided. Shame on you.

10. Utah- The Utes are lurking quietly... They may have the best chance at catching and passing Boise State.

11. Stanford- Only good things can happen to teams that don't play this week (Oregon excepted).

12. Florida State- As I pointed out to a gloating friend earlier, Florida State's success is relative compared to Florida's failure- Mississippi State > Boston College, LSU > Miami (FL), Alabama > Virginia, etc.

13. Oklahoma State- The Cowboys keep winning and winning big. We'll see how they handle an average Texas squad.

14. Missouri- The new favorites in the Big 12 (X) north. Also, I thought A&M was supposed to be good this year?

15. Arizona- Seems like the ranked teams in action are finding wins harder and harder to come by. Arizona didn't have any problems though.

16. Iowa- Effectively ended Denard Robinson's shot at winning the Heisman. Also, these guys are good.

17. Wisconsin- Stupid Badgers. But hey, they knocked off Ohio State in impressive fashion and anyone that beats the Buckeyes is OK by me.

18. Nebraska- I feel like a fool. I guess revenge really isn't that good a motivator. Maybe I should research a paper on that.

19. Arkansas- Remember that talk about how Arkansas finally had the defense to go with their offense to perhaps compete for a national championship? Yeah, not so much. On the bright side, their back QB is pretty damn good, huh?

20. South Carolina- Two words. If you're a fan of SEC football, I'm sure you can figure them out for yourself. If you're not, it rhymes with Micken Murse.

21. West Virginia- Absolutely pummeled South Florida with a good defense. I love those who pummel the Bulls. West Virginia looked good doing it.

22. Virginia Tech- Yes. A loss to a I-AA (of FCS if you will) team can only keep a good team down for so long. I don't know why we expect anything other than a 10 win yet somehow still disappointing season from the Hokies.

23. Mississippi State- They've only lost to the #1 and #3 teams in the country, and they played both of them relatively close. They beat Florida in the Swamp (for as little as that means now). They beat a good C-USA team (stop laughing) on the road. This is not dissonance. They are a good team. Really.

24. Kansas State- They're back. And they put a shellacking on Kansas like no other. Guess Bill Snyder doesn't like to lose.

25. Miami (FL)- But barely. Also considered UCF (for real- they're really good!), Georgia Tech, and Baylor. But Miami has the best schedule and most respectable losses of the bunch (at least who they've lost to, not the fashion in which they lost).
